A few tidbits from around the web, as gameday draws ever closer…
- Carolina March has an interesting look at how much effect the Cameron Crazies have on their team’s performance. As much as I want to believe his conclusion, I still feel like it’s one of those things not really measurable statistically…
- Kendall Marshall was apparently so good against FSU that Tar Heel Fan’s C. Michael had to readjust some of the ways he measures offensive player of the game in his beyond the box feature for that game.
- Marshall and Harrison Barnes were named ACC co-rookies of the week, as UNC’s frosh have now taken that honor for three weeks in a row.
- The Dagger notes the UNC bandwagon is starting to fill up again…
- The N&O thinks the Crazies are likely to have some special taunts lined up for Harrison Barnes on Wednesday, as he was once thought to favor Duke before choosing North Carolina.
- The Devils picked up a top-10 recruit for the class of 2012 in forward Alex Murphy, who committed to Duke this week.
- SCACC hoops is running their game preview sims for the week, with Duke coming out on top in 3 of the 4 run so far.
- Finally, if you thought Tyler Hansbrough’s bloody nose was bad, wait until you see what happened to Butler’s Matt Howard on Monday night. If this ever happened in the Duke-UNC game, I think Dick Vitale’s head would explode trying to come up with superlatives for how tough/crazy/heated this rivalry is. (So there’s always hoping, I guess!)
