A few last links to read before you start giving yourself over to the madness:
- The Dagger lists both Duke and UNC among the 10 teams they think can win it all this year, but then gives some compelling reasons why they won’t.
- Wait, Duke is getting Kyrie Irving back??? (See Blue Devil fans’ reactions at right) But should he try to play?
- Apparently Dexter Strickland has been playing with a knee injury for a month. No doubt he probably hurt it further when it made contact with Kyle Singler’s mouth during one of his “charges” against Duke in the ACC tournament.
- There was a little kerfluffle over Jalen Rose’s comments in the recent Fab Five documentary regarding Duke’s black players being “Uncle Tom’s.” Grant Hill responds in the New York Times exactly the way something like this should be handled; without malice, but not afraid to call Rose out for his asinine comments.
- For your entertainment: four great NCAA tournament moments (involving Duke in 2 and UNC in 1) recreated with Legos. Nice.
- The ACC will be looking for a few new coaches, as Paul Hewitt is out at Georgia Tech and neither of the rivalry schools will have Sidney Lowe to kick around anymore at NC State, sadly.
- Just in case you were ever curious why Duke’s devils are blue, the Dagger has your answer.
- Tar Heel Fan sums up a lot of UNC fans’ attitude by asking “Anyone else worried?” and answering with some cautious optimism.
- A few notes about UNC spring football, in case you somehow accidentally stumbled on this website wanting to find something other than ravenous college basketball coverage.
- And finally, your Thursday NCAA viewing guide, complete with the most compelling matchups highlighted in bold print. Personally, I’m loving both 4-13 matchups and the 6-11 games.
