As college basketball's early signing period began yesterday, UNC locked down two of its members for the class of 2013.

No big surprises for Roy Williams yesterday as both of UNC's committed players for the class of 2013 - five-star power forward Isaiah Hicks of Oxford Webb and four-star point guard Nate Britt of Oak Hill (Va.) Academy - signed their letters of intent.

Hicks (6-8, 210) is ranked as the #8 PF and #20 player overall in the class. He played in only 12 games for Oxford Webb last year after transferring from a Raleigh private school, but averaged 17 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks. He remains the top-rated prospect in North Carolina.

Britt, who is 6-1, 165 pounds, is listed as the #13 PG in his class and #70 overall recruit by Scout.com. He averaged 15.8 points as a junior for Gonzaga, a private school in Washington D.C., before transferring to Oak Hill for his senior year.

UNC currently has the 14-ranked class nationally but the big question marks remain West Charlotte center Kennedy Meeks (ranked #10 overall) who has not yet decided between North Carolina and Georgetown, and the #1-rated recruit in the class, Andrew Wiggins of Huntington WVa, who still has UNC on his list - though they are not thought to be the leader contender.
